Radiators usually keep rooms at your desired temperature, but occasionally they pump out too much heat or they’re too hot to touch.
Three reasons:
• The thermostat may not realize the temperature is too high. Then it will fail to send a message to the system to reduce the heat.
• The thermostatic valve can be stuck in a position where it fails to detect the extra heat. Unless it is stuck, the thermostatic valve will regulate the amount of hot water flowing to the radiator.
• I f you have a combi boiler the diverter valve may have accumulated enough debris that it no longer functions properly.
