A heat pump cools your home, too!

The heat pump industry has a problem. Many people don’t realize that in addition to heating a home, a heat pump also is a strong air-conditioner for a home or business.

Thanks to technology pioneered by Mitsubishi and others, the heat pump has been doing double-duty for decades. It essentially turns cold air warm and hot air cool, and it is more energy-efficient than other systems.

Its dual-capability made the heat pump popular in the South decades ago, but it was limited elsewhere because its heating capacity struggled when the temperature dropped into the 30s.

Now good to -15

New heat pumps now can keep a property warm even when the temperature drops to minus-15, according to tests overseen by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Plus they provide excellent air-conditioning, not always common in New York homes and businesses.

These are reasons why heat pumps have outsold gas furnaces nationwide for the past two years.

Heat pumps cost more to buy and install than traditional fossil-fuel systems, but you will save money with lower energy costs.

You will be eligible for federal, state and local rebates when you install a heat pump.

And you will be doing less damage to the environment.

Premier HVAC installs heat pumps and other heating and cooling systems in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Long Island.
