Improved home energy efficiency? IRS will give you tax credits

You may get up to $3,200 in federal tax credits if you made energy-efficient improvements to your home in the last two years.

The Internal Revenue Service is allowing the tax credits for improvements made since Jan. 1, 2023.

They range from $150 for a home energy audit to $2,000 for buying and installing a heat pump. Other covered items range from exterior doors and skylights to insulation, central air conditioners and water heaters.
